Capture the Dress (also known as Trash the Dress, Rock the Frock, Cherish the Dress and Bridal Glamour) is the latest trend to sweep through the UK, and is an excuse to get back into that wedding dress and be a fashion model for the day. It seems to be pointless for your wedding dress to be used for one day and then left to gather dust in the back of a wardrobe.
Our service is based on an idea that combines fashion photography with Bride & Groom portraits, they are for couples who are looking for images that are more than million miles from traditional wedding photography. These sessions give you the opportunity to show off your dress once again, and enjoy a professional photo shoot that is fashion orientated.
Although the name “Trash the Dress” will fill most brides with fear, we understand that the term is slightly extreme (although some brides might want to destroy the dress), our sessions are more like an magazine style photo shoot, no pressure, no guests hanging around, just you in your dress and your photographer.
The Challenge is to push the boundaries of traditional wedding photography and create uniquely artistic photos that would grace the cover of the glossy magazines. Brides that take up the challenge will love the experience. Streams, beaches, woods are all popular locations but do not over look the grungy back ally or building site. What is a Capture the Dress Session? – Now that the wedding is over, you have two choices for your dress. Stick it in the loft and forget about it or you can put it back on and have some fun. Let the Dress live again, immortalise it in vibrant, arty images for you to enjoy over a lifetime!
Do I have to really trash it? -NO It’s just a fun session with more time than the wedding day or a situation you wouldn’t dare at the wedding. Sure you can get a little risky with it, since the fear of getting it dirty is over, but you don’t have to. Everything will be discussed and planned before the shoot, so you will not have to do anything you feel uncomfortable with. We can even shoot in the studio (but come on where is the fun in that).
Can I still do a shoot if you didn’t photograph my wedding?- Absolutely! We will add spice to your wedding collection even if we didn’t cover the actual event. This is the perfect opportunity to add a different style to your wedding photos and some out of the ordinary locations.
Can I include my Husband or Bridesmaids? – YES ! Make it a “girls day out” or something more intimate with your man.
